I'm in Love...

...and her name is Kate Spade! ...or is it Catherine Street Pippa?

I love every purse Kate Spade designs. I just do! She's got a city style, with classic lines and lovely colors. My favorite! This little beauty, Catherine Street Pippa, just appeared in my inbox this morning. I can't get her right now, but oh, how lovely!

Very BIG Trees!

warning... Be prepared for tons of Pics!...warning

What a wonderful weekend we had. It started out with happy hour Friday night at our local watering hole. We always take the kids and sit outside under the stars. It's one of those places where they have twinkly lights lining the oak trees on the patio. Don't you just love twinkly lights? I do!

We left early Saturday morning to join my best friend since birth... I know, can you believe I've known someone that long? Truly blessed! She and her boyfriend own a cabin in the woods near Murphy's. We had no idea Murphy's California was a wine haven! or is it HEAVEN? The streets were lined with people grasping their wine glasses, going door to door, enjoying tastes of Calaveras county wines and yummy food pairings!

It was a total surprise to us once we got there, but ended up having the best day. We later went back to the cabin and cooked up some yummy dinner, drank more wine, and played UNO! Just a lovely night!

I love it!

On Sunday, we got to go to Calaveras Big Trees State park to get the kids out and about before the drive home. It was just a lovely day and the huge trees were so beautiful! Take a look and some of these pictures and enjoy!

What did you do this weekend to celebrate Presidents Day!

Lovely...

We had a wonderful weekend out of town. I took tons of pictures and look forward to sharing all our adventures in Murphy's, Arnold, and Calaveras Big Tree! But first, I had to share this adorable cart from IKEA. I can't wait to use it in my laundry room next to my washer and dryer! What do you think? Where would you use it?

Architectural Digest love for Valentines Day!

I've been all over the Internet today, but fell mostly in Love with Architectural Digest and mainly, the Celebrity Homes they feature.

Is it just me, or are you fascinated by where celebrities live? It's amazing to see what their style is and if the designer they hired got it right. Sometimes I wonder how a stranger can click so well with the client and almost read their minds to understand the style and feel of a room they're after! I would be calling my designer day and night giving ideas and writing down ideas on paper napkins.

Take a look at some of my favorites. They're a little too modern or contemporary for me, but also gorgeous just the same!

This first home from AD is from the beautiful Ellen Degeneres and her wife Portia De Rossi.

I'm so in love with the kitchen. I love the green cabinets. I would never be ale to do that, but I love they had the guts to play with color.

I love the simplicity of the bathroom. I love the single sink and the counter tops! swoon!

My favorite is the outside space. Yes please, I'll take a dip in the pool, thanks for asking!

Next up, the amazing Nate Burkes. He's so talented as a designer and I just love his before and afters of his own home. You must hurry over to AD to see his entire remodel! I love his style, and wish I could ask home 100 decorating questions over coffee!

This is the Glorious Kitchen. I would never leave that room! Flawless!

oooo... this closet!

Thank you Architectural Digest for your passion for style, true story consistency and making us fall in Love this Valentines Day! Bravo!

A Great Weekend!

This weekend was great. Anytime we get to be together as a family is always good. Hubby works a lot so on weekends, now that football is over, we rent movies, and eat ice cream splits and laugh!

This last Friday night, we had a Valentines Daddy Daughter dance. It was so cute seeing all the Dads with their little girls. Here are my two. I can't believe my little girl is getting so big. Make time stop!

I have been trying to take room by room and clean and organize. I changed a closet into a mini homework office for the kids. I'll show that in a later post. This weekend, I tried to tackle the kids rooms. As you know, we are in a rental, but the owners are actually letting us paint, as long as we get color permission first. I haven't started painting anything upstairs yet, so the rooms are plain white. First step for me was getting rid of old toys and starting the organization process. Next step will be to actually decorate and paint!

This picture is scary- I took them with my phone so be prepared...

 BEFORE:

This is my sons room, as you can see. I organized toys in buckets of like kind and feel so much better about it now!

AFTER:

Same with my daughters room. She's in love with anything American Girl Doll, of course, so her closet is their little city, but we're tackling her storage as well.

Once I get these rooms all done, I'll take you on a step by step basis and show my ideas how to make this process easier. How was your weekend? Do anything fun?

A New Starbucks!

I ventured to our neighborhood Starbucks today, and realized its been a long time since I had been there. It was completely remodeled! I'm not sure why they took out most of the seating, which for us squatters, is not very nice...but there is a fancy new bar top that made me feel like I should've ordered a Chardonnay instead of my Nonfat coffee!

I'm excited for the new place, wish it was bigger, but maybe I'll find my place at the bar to Blog!

It's been too long

I guess I don't enjoy writing, cuz I haven't posted anything on this blog in forever. I thought it would be a fun outlet, but fell into the "another thing on my list" category.
I'm going to get going on the log home photos, organize them all, categorize them all, and get started sharing the crazy process of building our dream home. I think...
